My main blog so it has some of everything but it's mostly dance moms/little dancers. I'm not the best at making edits but I do make awesometastic audio swaps, pyramids during the show, outfits inspired by costumes, and some other cool stuff. Feel free to...
do other countries have a groundhog day? do you all gather on February second and watch with bated breathe as a groundhog emerges from its hole? do you forecast the next six weeks of weather based on if the groundhog is frightened by its own shadow and returns to the hole?
is this some kind of thing American tumblr made up to prank us??
groundhog day is real the entire country watches a groundhog predict the weather
All animals go to heaven is just illogical planning. You’re telling me every crocodile that ever lived is in heaven? Heaven must be swarming crocodiles. Does that sound like heaven to you? Thousands of millions of crocodiles?
*SLAMS FIST ON TABLE*
YES, DAMMIT
And Steve Irwin is showering them all with affection
But does every Stingray go to heaven? I mean, what if Steve Irwin just randomly came across the Stingray that killed him?
Steve would probably pat it and say ‘Sorry I spooked you mate, gosh your a beauty! You must have grown three times since I last saw you!’
Without trying to get into arguments or imply this person is better than the other which is not true. The least thing I want or need is to pick one girl after another when that’s not what Rowan would want, specially taking about Sabrina who’s a talented young lady. But there’s this issue that’s been bothering me and I feel like speaking out.
The way Disney is been treating Rowan reminds me of how MTV treats Tyler Posey (a poc, the actual lead of teen wolf) and how they favor the white actor who play the side kick for publicity proposes (Dylan/Stiles). Or when Disney used to promote Bella Thorne instated of Zendaya until she got a massive recognition for her dancing. We know that’s how Hollywood works but the way Disney is been treating Rowan is been obvious even for her.
Rowan Blanchard is the lead of Girl Meets World, you can try to deny it or not but she is. In Latin America the show is called “El Mundo de Riley”. The pilot tells you, “how long do I have to live in my fathers world?” “Until you make it yours”. It’s been public knowledge that every girl that owns a tv show gets a DCOM, just like Rowan got Invisible Sister. Do I even need to remember how the publicity for that movie was? It was awful. I never saw enough publicity for that movie. There were a lot of poc (Paris Berelc/half-Filipino; Karan Brar) and the message of the movie was really good, about sisterhood and loving yourself. Plus Rowan’s acting was refreshing and outstanding. Instated, if you type ‘Invisible Sister’ on YouTube you get like one interview of Rowan speaking about the movie, and like 2 more from Radio Disney with Paris and Row but nothing more. Even Rowan spoke on the lack of publicity the movie received, (x) which it’s incredible sad. Now, the movie of Sabrina “Adventures in Babysitting” got TONS of publicity, it was actually huge. Sabrina and Sofia were doing a lot of interviews and the movie even got a song by them (which promotes a lot). I mean, there was a whole hashtag with #TeamJenny or #TeamLola & if we count the scenes updated in the apps before the movie aired. They even send Sabrina to Live With Kelly, and if you know anything about business, the channel is the one in charge of those negotiations. They even went to Good Morning America to promote the movie. I mean, go search in YouTube. However the movie got low ratings, Invisible Sister got 4.03m while AIB stayed in 3 millions.
And that’s just talking about Rowan’s proyects outside of Girl Meets World.
Moving on to GMW, you cant even deny how Maya’s carboard or Sabrina’s (and you are watching Disney Channel commercial) gets constantly announced before an episode. Even though Rowan is the ultimate lead (even though Maya is a main too), lately Rowan can’t do an interview or commercial related to GMW without Sabrina. The only moments I remember they even paid attention to Rowan as the lead was her promotional interviews with Ben. The way the channel disassociates Rowan from GMW makes the audience believe Maya is the ultimate lead of the show (which also I’m guessing that’s why the character has so many followers), and that’s just sad. And I love the writers, but not even Riley gets quality story lines that aren’t about Maya anymore. It’s so obvious, you can’t even deny this fact.
Another thing that bother me was how it was Sabrina the one in charge of the Christmas Special about young girls identifying themselves with a Disney princess. If there’s anything Rowan is known for is to be an inspiration for young girls, so why wasn’t Rowan asked to do it? What could Sabrina do there that Rowan couldn’t? (Besides signing, which I’m also aware Rowan can too) and you can’t said that the reason why Sabrina gets so much publicity is because she’s signed with Hollywood Records (Disney’s label) because I remember even Dove Cameron got good publicity before being signed. The only proyects Rowan does are only archived because of her being an increidble human being because Disney does nothing for her in terms to help her grow.
Again, this isn’t bashing Sabrina because she can’t control what Disney does with the publicity. It’s a general complain because Disney continues to push the beauty standards on blonde girls with blue eyes, but don’t try to do more publicity for Rowan who’s not only incredible beautiful in my eyes but an advocate for this amazing causes that young girls specially who watch Disney can learn from. Disney did Rowan so dirty, and I can’t wait for her to leave and be recognize some where else. Rowan already has a huge support and respect by Hollywood celebrities.
I’m not saying how Disney is treating Rowan is right because I do think she deserves so much more, I’m just speaking in Disney’s defense. Sabrina is just better known than Rowan, and she always has been. She’s done soooo much outside of Disney that of course they’re going to try to turn a profit by that. I mean, even I knew who Sabrina was before she joined Girl Meets World whereas I had no clue who Rowan was.
For Adventures in Babysitting, it’s no surprise that movie got so much more publicity. I actually didn’t know it was a DCOM, I just thought it was a normal Disney movie because it’s been getting noticed from everywhere. But that makes sense because it’s actually a cheesy Disney updated re-make of a really good 1987 movie (seriously, if you haven’t seen the original I suggest you check it out). I mean, that fact alone got my mom interested in the new one (granted I haven’t seen it yet). But that’s why it got so much more publicity in my opinion; if I were Disney I would push that one hard too.
As for the Christmas special with the princess thing, i didn’t watch it and maybe you did but I would assume that was because Sabrina is a princess in Sofia the First. My niece loves that show and Sabrina voices Princess Vivian who is a super shy princess that Sofia helps become more confident. Why would Rowan do a princess thing when she doesn’t play a princess whereas Sabrina does?
Honestly, I don’t watch Disney that much, and I’ve never even seen GMW, but I love Rowan. I think she’s adorable and deserves so much more than Disney is giving her. I mean, I can tell just from clips and previews that GMW is not showcasing her enough, I mean you can barely tell she is the main character! But I do think Disney has their reasons for giving more to Sabrina. I’m not saying it’s right, I’m just saying from a marketing perspective I understand…
